The Town of Trophy Club hosted a special event for its most tenured employees who have dedicated themselves to the Town and its residents on Monday, October 14, 2019. It’s a special event meant to honor and show the gratitude the leadership team has for their commitment to excellence and to the town.
“This group represents the finest attributes of our many administrative and public safety team members; long-term, dedicated, and exceptionally qualified public servants who work tirelessly on behalf of our residents and Council,” stated Interim Town Manager Wade Carroll “I am exceeding proud of all they do and honored to stand beside them in the day to day service of our community.”
Each of these dedicated employees represents the core values of the organization and thanking them for their service to meet these core values in their everyday work is important. In order to strategically meet the priorities and goals set in place by the Mayor and Town Council members, having a strong employee structure in place is imperative. “Talent is never enough. With few exceptions, the best players are the hardest workers” – Magic Johnson

"Sergio was hired as the Parks Irrigation Technician, not only has he proven his capacity of being one of the best irrigators, he has also proven to be a great team player and most importantly a great leader as well. Although Sergio has a quiet and reserved personality, he is never afraid to express his ideas or concerns when it comes to performing a well-done task or when it comes to safety. He is always willing to assist other departments and never complains about having to stop what he is doing in order to help others. The Town of Trophy Club Parks and Recreation Department is fortunate to have a fine, dedicated worker like Sergio." – Tony Jaramillo, Director of Parks & Recreation
"Thad joins a team of others that due to prolonged tenure, will assist the workplace in growing, and provide the type of strength that experienced employees of this level create, to help promote internal stability, trust, and understanding among other employees." – Tommy Uzee, Director of Community Development
"Luis was hired as a Parks Maintenance Worker. After working on the maintenance crew for approximately two years, the Parks Superintendent promoted Luis to Parks Crew Leader as he constantly demonstrated dedication, humbleness, integrity, and vulnerability which are some of the important traits that are embedded in being an accountable leader. Luis continues to show his strong leadership skills by working alongside four dedicated parks staff members and is considered one of the hardest working crews in the workforce. Luis demonstrates an abundant amount of pride in his work and always has the quality over quantity mentality which fits perfectly when working for the Town of Trophy Club." – Tony Jaramillo, Director of Parks & Recreation
"Samuel works as a Parks Maintenance Worker, he has a great personality and loves to get along and joke around with his fellow staff members. However, Samuel has always proven that when it comes to working, he is ready and willing to get the job done on time while delivering a quality product. At times, Samuel is given various tasks throughout the day and never needs supervision. He keeps his immediate supervisor well-informed and is always willing to work weekend events and offers to work extra hours in order to get the job completed. Samuel works in one of the hardest working crews in the workforce and never complains; you can tell he is always in a good mood by noticing the smile on his face." – Tony Jaramillo, Director of Parks & Recreation
"At 15 years of service, Mike is one of our most tenured employees here in Trophy Club and Mike stores institutional knowledge like he does terabytes of data on our server. I think what I most respect about Mike however is just how much he cares for all the staff he works with. Mike is a big guy and if you don’t take the time to get to know him he can be a little intimidating but don’t let his gruff exterior fool you. If you need assistance Mike will be one of the first to jump in. He knows his job and does it well but, more than that he is everyone’s big brother." – Wade Carroll, Interim Town Manager
"Sgt. Simmons started his police career in 1980 and worked for Highland Village and Roanoke police departments before joining Trophy Club. 20 Years ago, Sgt. Simmons stated with the TCPD and move through the ranks and is currently the Special Service Division Supervisor. He is proud to be the leader of the award-winning Police Explorer program. Tony’s two passions in law enforcement, Crime Scene investigations and Grant writing, which he has done a great in both. Thank you for your 20 years of service with TCPD." – Patrick Arata, Chief of Police
