Citizen Academy 2022 News FlashThe Trophy Club police and fire departments enjoy working with the community. Citizen's time and dedication to the TC organization are invaluable, and the relationships and friendships that are created are irreplaceable.

The NEWLY COMBINED Trophy Club Citizen Academy has been designed to provide community members with a working knowledge of the police and fire departments. Citizen Academy graduates gain valuable insight into each department while having fun and meeting new people.

Requirements

Potential candidates for the TC Citizen Academy must meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum age of 18 
  • Live or work in the Trophy Club area
  • No prior felony arrest
  • No history of Class B or greater misdemeanor
  • Not miss more than one (1) class
  • Pass a background check

Background Investigation

Due to the nature of the material that is presented in class, a background investigation is conducted on each applicant. Persons who have ever been convicted of a Class B Misdemeanor or greater are not eligible to attend or participate.

Overview of the TC Citizen Academy

Designed for adults to learn about how the police and fire departments are organized and operate. The TC Citizen Academy is open to persons who meet the above requirements. The TCCA will meet for several weeks, with graduation being held on the final evening. Each night, TCCA participants will learn about different aspects of the fire and police departments, ranging from emergency medical services to special rescue operations.  This is not a certification course. The class total will be 12 participants for the 2022 year.
