Mayor Pro Tem Lamont's April Recap

April 28, 2021:

2021 Safest City SafeWiseWell here we are at the end of April 2021 (My Birthday Month) already and we start with the announcement that Trophy Club has moved up to the #1 safest city in Texas.

A Special thanks to our Police Department and Chief Arata for keeping us safe and achieving this recognition, #1 Safest City in Texas per SafeWise.

As a person who prefers to stay close to home and not travel, there is the announcements of upcoming openings of 4 new Restaurants and a NYC style bagel shop coming to Trophy Club, this will give us additional choices to stay in Trophy Club and spend our dining Tax Dollars here.
  1. The Trophy Table (from burgers to lobster rolls) has received its alcohol permit and will be opening in the former location of Breadwinners at 114 and Trophy Wood Drive. TBA
  2. Blue 22 (a Sports Venue) has received its alcohol permit and will be located in the Trophy Club Town Center at 114 and Trophy Club Drive.
  3. Wing Stop (The Chicken Wing Franchise) received its Alcohol permit and will be located in the Trophy Club Town Center at 114 and Trophy Club Drive.
  4. Pastaza an Italian style restaurant serving risotto and pizza among their specialties has opened and is located in the Tom Thumb Shopping Center.
Dan’s NYC Bagels will be opening soon in the Tom Thumb Shopping Center. Dan is a TC resident and has been making and selling bagels in a limited supply, this opening will expand his operation, speaking on a personal level they are the real deal.

A few more Restaurant announcements to come, so stay tuned.

During the April 27th Council Meeting, two proclamations were read highlighting both the National Day of Prayer event on May 6th at 12:00 PM and the other recognizing May as National Military Appreciation month in Trophy Club. Both parties had delegates in attendance representing their cause.

In boring budget news, we are on tract to stay within our projected numbers.


To those who have not filed with your Insurance Company regarding the possible reduction to your policy amount for the Town’s receiving an ISO rating of 1 (one) that you should request a review, linked here is the letter to send.
In Denton County News, the Texas Motor Speedway vaccination process has been beyond amazing, County Commissioner Dianne Edmondson stated that nearly 450,000 people have been vaccinated at the location and health planners from all over the world have come to review the County’s set up and distribution of the vaccine.

Reminder: Election Day is May 1st, the NISD bonds and 2 NISD School Board positions are on the ballot. The two (2) Trophy Club Council positions were unopposed, congratulations to Karl Monger and Dennis Sheridan for their election to Council.
